Kocherlball
Carmen, Ben, and Margaret in their Trachten
When we arrived, this was the scene: band up on a stage, Chinesischen Turm in the background, throngs of people dancing.
Our group: Carmen, Margaret (top), Sylvie and Henrik (bottom), Ben (right) and Hans (not pictured) Everyone was dressed for the event. Some wore the outfits of the cooks and maids for whom the dance is named.
Others wore more formal attire.
And others simply dressed in their Bavarian best.
The band, Die Tanzgeiger, played up a storm and kept the dancers on their feet all morning.
Dancing and more dancing!
We, of course, danced too.
This was a two-woman dance. Each man dances with two women. Hans, here, seems to be enjoying it.
We drank coffee and beer and ate pastries and pretzels for breakfast
Too soon the morning was over, and we posed for a final shot. (l-r: Sylvie, Hans, Carmen, Ben, Margaret)
